I start treatment Jan 17th

I'm Donnavitt, and I'm a survivor of Stage 3a Anal Cancer

once the radiation starts working down in the area of anus and vagina, what do you recommend to care for the tender skin in that area?

Hi, I'm Betti

Your team should tell you what to use. It was my tech doing my radiation treatments that told me what to keep on my skin between treatments. They all have certain things they want you using so talk to them if they don’t bring it up. I had breast cancer and not anal so it would probably be different in your case. Take care, Betti

Hi, I'm Kathy

Your oncologist has a cream you need to start applying now. I am in week 6 of this treatment and have went through 2 tubes and have 2 or 3 more as I also keep one at work. You will want to start putting it on every time you go to the bathroom. Especially in the bikini line area and around back. Our skin sure takes a beating during this treatment but the cream is soothing. I have also been doing sitz bathes and they have sure helped and very soothing as well.
