Da Vinci Radical Hysterectomy bilateral salpingectomy staging

My name is Angie and recently had my cervix, uterus and both Fallopian tubes. After surgery both my legs were numb from the upper knee to hip. A week later my upper legs are still numb with off and on crawling sensation along with spasms and sharp pains, it hurts really bad at times, my left upper legs is numb from upper knee and up and right leg goes in and out of numbness in different areas. Is this normal and has anyone else went through this. Articles I have read on this say it’s a pinch nerve from surgery.

Hi Angie, Yes it sounds like a nerve(s) is onvolved. Do you have burning in that area? As well as pain? Usually burning is a sure sign of a nerve being involved. After my lung surgery, my entire left side from under my breast diagonal to my belly button was numb. Weird, stabbing, aching, scratchy, blubbery feeling. It’s been 2 years and it still is partly, some days numb but mostly much better. The nerves do heal themselves. I would keep telling your doctors about this and asking for help and alternative treatments to alleviate these symptoms if anything is available. Maybe physical therapy will help? I know oftentimes they prescribe Gabapentin for nerve problems before and after surgery. I had horrible side effects from it but it works on many people. I pray you get some comfort and help. Cindy
