I'm Captbo, and I'm a survivor of Stage 4 Colon Cancer

My oncologist wanted me to use Lonsurf, but after my experience with Stivarga I was leery of trying another strong oral medicine. The first time I used Stivarga I developed blisters on my hands and feet so severe that I was unable to walk. I took a 3 week break and then started again. The second time Stivarga put me in the hospital with tachycardia and an enlarged heart. Since then my stamina and coordination are only about 25% of what I had maintained for 3 years on the other chemo regimens I had used. I had always had a very strong heart and tolerated chemo much better than most people. I just happened to fall into that 1% of patients who developed problems like mine.
At 7 years you have already survived stage 4 colon cancer five years longer than the statistical median. At 3 1/2 years I’m only half as strong as you are. Congratulations on your success.
