Navigating Care and Unlimited Systems Partner to Provide Cancer Clinics with IT Interoperability to Attain HITECH Act Incentives

Navigating Care embeds Interlink communication gateway into their Patient Engagement Portal, enabling powerful integration with practice management and electronic health record systems

(10/18/2011, Seattle, WA & Cincinnati, OH) – With connectivity enabled by Unlimited Systems Interlink integration platform, Navigating Care’s Patient Engagement Portal not only helps cancer clinics easily meet many of the HITECH Act Meaningful Use objectives but also saves time and money by reducing duplicate data entry, streamlining patient registration, and expediting insurance verification for faster claims payment and reduced denials.

Clinics can provide patients with complete access to health records, including their medical history, lab results and appointments, which they can view online and on demand through Navigating Care’s Patient Engagement Portal.

"We're excited to leverage a proven integration engine already used by over 1,300 Oncologists at 145 cancer centers to enable connectivity between clinic information systems and our Patient Engagement Portal,” said Gena Cook, Navigating Care Founder and CEO. “This will allow our current and future customers to easily meet the HITECH Act Meaningful Use objectives while providing patients with electronic access to their health information so clinics can truly provide patient-centered care.”

Brian Gockerman, Managing Director of Unlimited Systems, added “The combination of Interlink with an Oncology-specific patient portal will enable thousands of cancer patients to access a compelling patient health record, a technology we feel is transformative to healthcare. Embedding our software with Navigating Care’s Patient Engagement Portal allows clinics to quickly achieve rich and meaningful interoperability between their internal systems and each patient’s view of the medical record.”
